General Purpose Police Dogs
Celtic K9 Services has for years sourced, trained and supplied general purpose dogs to police forces in the UK and abroad. Each dog is prepared with the potential to complete an initial police GP course and handler pairing.
The foundation work includes introductions to tracking, article search, bark and hold, and protection work, supported by real-world exposure.
Dogs are assessed in busy public environments, including town and city centres, train stations, bus stations and other high-footfall locations, as well as in controlled suspicion-based scenarios and protection exercises.
Environmental assessments cover slippery surfaces, work at height, water and other variable conditions.
All dogs are crate trained, vehicle trained and kennel trained to support operational requirements.

At Celtic K9 Services, we source, supply and develop high-quality green search dogs with the qualities that matter most: exceptional ball drive, strong hunt drive and a willingness to keep searching when the task becomes challenging.
Our dogs are taught to use their noses to locate a concealed ball, developing purposeful searching and the determination to work through obstacles rather than give up. We put them through progressively demanding search situations to assess and develop their motivation, persistence and problem-solving ability.

Dogs are crate trained and kennel trained, supporting day-to-day management, transport and settling between training sessions.
Indication training can also be introduced where required, with the response agreed around the receiving organisation's training approach and intended role.

Protection dogs

At Celtic K9 Services, we source and train family protection dogs from a young age, developing the temperament, confidence and control needed to become a trusted part of your family.
Protection is only one part of their training. Our dogs learn to remain calm and manageable in everyday situations—from busy town centres and public spaces to quieter rural environments. Loose-lead walking, obedience and settling comfortably at home form the foundation of their development.
Control, confidence and protection
Through carefully structured training, our dogs learn to remain composed around normal activity and respond appropriately to threatening behaviour. Their preparation includes responding to a protection command and working through scenarios involving both subtle, developing threats and more obvious confrontation.
This work requires skilled handling, experienced decoy work and months of consistent training. There are no shortcuts and no corners cut.

Every placement is tailored to your household, lifestyle and protection requirements. Dogs are prepared to integrate into family life, with suitable arrangements for living indoors or in appropriate outdoor accommodation.
Where suitable, training can include supervised lead walking with younger family members. This is assessed individually, taking account of the dog, the child's age and ability, and the level of adult supervision required.
We also place a strong emphasis on owner handling, helping you understand your dog's commands, maintain its training and manage it confidently.

International Security Dog Consultancy
Specialist support for an exclusive private island.
Celtic K9 Services is the sole provider of security dogs, dog training consultancy and canine equipment to an exclusive, privately owned island in the Bahamas.
We travel regularly from the UK to deliver tailored, professional training for the island's security dog handlers and dogs. These visits provide ongoing support, helping maintain the handling skills and training standards required for the island's security operation.
The operation currently comprises ten dog handlers and ten dogs, working on a rotational deployment to provide 24-hour security coverage.
Highly visible canine patrols provide a reassuring presence for villa owners and holiday guests, supporting their peace of mind throughout their time on the island.
Our role extends beyond supplying dogs. Through regular on-site training, specialist consultancy and equipment provision, we support the continued development of the dogs and the people who handle them.
